North Vine Street Corridor Improvements Reach Substantial Completion

Earlier this week the North Vine Street Corridor Improvements project reached substantial completion. With this designation, all roundabouts are now fully functional and posted detours have been removed. Until the project reaches final completion, there will be minor lane closures and other miscellaneous work occurring on the periphery of Vine Street while the contractor, Smoky Hill Construction, completes the finishing touches.

The City of Hays, in conjunction with the Kansas Department of Transportation, initiated the North Vine Street Corridor Improvement project nearly four years ago to improve traffic flow and reduce the number and severity of accidents along North Vine Street. The improvements allow for better traffic flow to and from businesses and accommodate future redevelopment in the area. Construction began June 1, 2020, and will be finished on schedule. Thank you for your patience and cooperation the last 18 months.
