The Honor Guard is comprised of select members of the Hays Police Department with the purpose of paying tribute to fallen officers, military personnel, and other first responders. The Honor Guard accomplishes this by performing precision ceremonial drill movements at funerals, parades, sporting events and other events that request the colors be presented or posted in a ceremonial fashion. The Honor Guard is currently made up of seven members of the Patrol Division and was established in March 2019. The Honor Guard was first unveiled to the public at the Fort Hays State University Homecoming Parade on October 12, 2019.
