Refuse Collection Fee
This fee will be included on your water bill. Effective December 20, 2006, it is required that all new residential accounts subscribe to City refuse collection. The rate is $19.52 per unit.
Please contact the City Clerk's Office at 785-628-7300 for rates or any other billing questions. The City of Hays does not pick up commercial/business locations.
Yard Waste Collection Program
The city of Hays refuse customers may purchase yard waste tags at the City Clerk's Office in sheets of 5 for $5.25 ($1.05 per tag) at:

Each yard waste bag is to have a tag attached before Refuse crews will collect it. The bag must weigh no more than 40 pounds. Tagged yard waste goes into the trash-not to the compost site. (This option is for City of Hays Customers only)
