Refuse Collection Fee: This fee will be included on your water bill.

• Effective 12-20-2006, it is required that all new residential accounts subscribe to City refuse collection. The rate is $15.20 per unit.

Please contact the City Clerk's Office at 628-7300 for rates or any other billing questions. The City of Hays does not pick up commercial/business locations.
 

Yardwaste Collection Program:

City of Hays refuse customers may purchase yardwaste tags at the Clerk's Office (1507 Main) in sheets of 5 for $5.25 ($1.05 per tag). Each yardwaste bag is to have a tag attached before Refuse crews will collect it. Bag must weigh no more than 40 pounds. Tagged yardwaste goes into the trash--NOT to the compost site. (This option is for City of Hays Customers ONLY)
