The Public Works Department is responsible for snow removal, solid waste collection, flood structure maintenance, street and alley maintenance, maintenance of street signs and signals, fleet services, building inspection, code enforcement, and city planning issues. The Public Works Department also manages the Hays Regional Airport operations. Their administrative offices are located at 3950 E 8th Street, immediately east of the Water Treatment Plant, and can be reached at 628-7370.
