In Person Advance Voting

General Information
- Deadline for voting in person is 12:00 noon on the Monday prior to Election Day at the Election Office location only
- Ballots must be returned to the County Election Officer before 7:00 pm election night
Advance Voting by Mail
- Advance voting by mail begins 20 days prior to every election
- To vote by mail, complete an Application for an Advance Voting Ballot by Mail and fax to 785-628-9413, or mail to Ellis County Clerk's Office, 1204 Fort St. Room 221, Hays Kansas 67601 785-628-9410. A separate application must be submitted for each election unless the voter qualifies for permanently sick/disabled status. Applications are also available at the Election Office. Completed application must be received at the Election Office before 5:00 p.m. on the Friday prior to the election.
Applications may be copied. Each voter must sign an application in order to receive a ballot. More than one application may be mailed in the same envelope. Applications are accepted anytime during the year in which the election is held.
Your voted ballot may be returned by mail or hand-delivered to the Election Office. To be counted, the ballot must be received at the Election Office, 1204 Fort Street, before 7:00 p.m. on Election Day. Advance voting ballots should not be turned in at polling place. These ballots will not be counted.
Vote at a Polling Place
- The polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.
